Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Central Ohio – Morning Commute Alert

Dense Fog Advisory for Central Ohio Affects Monday Morning Commute

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued across Central Ohio for Monday morning, significantly reducing visibility and creating hazardous driving conditions for commuters. The National Weather Service has warned that fog could lower visibility to near zero at times through the morning hours, making travel especially dangerous on major roadways and bridges.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution if they must travel early, leaving extra time for their commute, using low-beam headlights, and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles on the road. The advisory is expected to remain in effect until about mid-morning, after which the fog should gradually lift.

Local weather stations report that some areas may also experience patchy freezing fog, which brings an added risk of icy spots on elevated roads and overpasses. Drivers should watch for slick surfaces in addition to the reduced visibility.

Despite the fog, warmer conditions are expected later in the week, with temperatures rising into the 50s and 60s through midweek after the morning visibility issues clear.

Tips for Drivers:

  • Slow down and allow extra travel time.

  • Use low-beam headlights to improve visibility.

  • Keep a safe distance from other vehicles.

Stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve throughout the morning commute.
